Inframark Maintenance Manager in Bridgeport, Connecticut

Overview

JOB FUNCTION/ PURPOSE

Oversee and direct maintenance department personnel in the performance of equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, emergency repairs and preventative maintenance. Inspect and evaluate physical plant, grounds, and related equipment for the Bridgeport East Side and West Side Wastewater Treatment Plants.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages all emergency, predictive, preventative, corrective and ongoing maintenance, repair or replacement of equipment or structures in accordance with Prudent Industry Practices as defined in the project contract.

  • Provides technical input into Major Replacement and upgrade plans and proposals to the Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Project Director.

  • Coordinates with outside contractors to perform activities, repairs, preventive maintenance on building equipment, and building and grounds appearance.

  • Purchase and manage all related maintenance supplies and plant equipment repair parts for all equipment in facility.

  • Participates in the development and implementation of goals, strategies, and standard operating policies/procedures (SOPs).

  • Manages teams related to hiring, on-boarding, performance management, utilization, training, and development.

  • Schedules and organizes projects and task work orders for each maintenance crew.

  • Performs QA/QC for assigned work orders.

  • Enforces compliance with all Company and Site Health and Safety rules, standards and procedures (e.g. routine PPE, Lock-out Tag-out, and confined space entry).

  • Coordinates and manages plant spill teams.

  • Manages equipment repairs and oversees tool and parts lists required for each employee.

  • Meets and approves outside contractors to ensure all company SOPs are met.

  • Interfaces and coordinates with Plant Operations and Field Operations department management for scheduled and emergency projects and tasks.

  • Assists with building and inventory needs.

  • Ensures all DOT requirements are followed.

  • Facilitates weekly maintenance meetings.

  • Initiates and maintains a computer-based Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in accordance with the project contract.

  • Documents SOPs and personnel management utilizing computer-based software (MS Word, Excel, and other third-party software).

  • Is on-call 24/7 to coordinate responses to off-hour plant emergency repairs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BA/BS in related field and 10+years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role in the water and wastewater field. Experienced in performing or supervising mechanical, plumbing, electrical installation and repairs on process equipment. Mid-level computer literacy with standard business software required. Experience managing union employees is preferred.

A water and/or wastewater license is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently lift 50-60 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
