Job Description

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician at our La Vergne TN Water Plant.

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment to prolong the serviceable life of all equipment. The main function of this job is to perform maintenance that includes items with the water treatment plant, flushing of hydrants and blowoffs, and performing cross connection inspections/testing. The relief portion of this job is to work as an operator when an operator calls off sick, goes on vacation, or leaves the company. The operator portion of the job is critical to the position.

$1,000 Bonus after the first year, another $1,000 after the second year .

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists Maintenance Manager in performing various maintenance tasks

Cleans and maintains tools and equipment

Prepares rigs for daily use

Repairs or replaces pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, and other equipment

Maintains files and records of work orders and task completion

Cleans plant area as assigned

Conducts routine equipment maintenance tests

Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions

Must be flexible to cover operator shift whenever needed, which may include nights, weekends, holidays

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to write simple correspondences

Ability to follow written and oral instructions

Willing to learn and help

Previous water or wastewater treatment experience is desirable

40hrs/wk, with possible nights, weekends, holidays when operating water treatment plant

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent

0-1-year related experiences and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver’s license

Able to obtain certification of Competency in Testing and Evaluation of Backflow Prevention Assemblies within 6 months

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds

Able to climb ladders and stairways

Must be able to access confined spaces
